Most of us have seen custom action figures. They are a good option when your favorite character is not part of the line of toys you are collecting. I stumbled upon this curious Metamorpho custom figure which clearly tries to resemble to be part of the Super Powers action figure line from the 1980's.
The curious part is the custom tries obviously to evade copyright conflicts with the real trademark which is rare in a custom figure considered a non-commercial work (at least no in a mass production commercial sense).
The aspect of the card and his similitudes with the original Super Powers line rather bear a likeness with those knock-off toys very well known by presenting a similar design from the original with similar words but not the same ones. The weird thing is the figure has been hand painted which would be a rarity for a knock-off toy which are mass produced.
The owner of the toy just bought it but he seems not to know where it came from. This would be an interesting "unsolved mystery" to clarify so if you have any clue please drop a line below.
