In december 2015 DC Comics announced they would be publishing a new anthology book called "Legends of Tomorrow" to debut on March 9th 2016 with price tag of $7.99 for 80 pages. The book features four different series based on DC universe classics and Metamorpho is featured as well. Today we easily can assume that this anthology book was really the product of four almost to be cancelled series after a new DC implosion was announced due to low sales and financial problems (a super debt included).
These four series were in a moment announced as future releases but instead of just throwing them and cancel the effort (I assume they already had most of the artwork done), DC decided to give the characters a try with an anthology and named the book "Legends of Tomorrow" to exploit as much as they can from the TV show.
It is good to know Metamorpho has finally made his debut in the new 52 other than the panel in which he appears in Justice League International #1 as optioned to join the roster of this group but left aside (shame on them). In futures post I will review the Metamorpho stories we already have from issues 1 and 2 but for the moment I want you to encourage to support the book, the story and the art is really good and the re-imagination of the character can convince even to hardcore pre-crisis/pre-flashpoint fans like me.
Aaron Lopresti and Matt Banning were the selected ones to introduce the element man to the new 52 and this was a good decision since the team has not disappointed but on the contrary have fans asking for more. The reception of the anthology to the moment is comforting, it is between 70% to 80% as a whole being the Metamorpho's feature one of which received more praise.
I hope soon the element man may graduate to his own book. Who knows, the future is ahead.
